adagioteas_logo.jpgTea drinkers, check out adagio teas. I think of adagio teas as ‘the Amazon of tea’ - of loose leaf tea. What Amazon(.com) initially did for books is what adagio teas is currently doing for loose leaf tea, online. It seems that online tea retailers (of all specialties) are sprouting up in droves – lately - but, most however, don’t make tea accessible and relevant to the masses the way “adagio teas” does.

I especially appreciate adagio teas’ easy-to-navigate menu.

Like Amazon, all the usual user ranking facilities are available to customers. You can rate teas, read customer comments, and see what other people are ordering to help you determine what you want to purchase.

Adagio teas does not have a physical store location and conducts all its business online, which I think is a smart strategic decision – my hats off to them. The way I see it is that you’re primarily an online store or a physical store, pick one, not both. Not convinced? Think about what Barnes and Nobles did for books online versus what Amazon did for books online - or how about Borders versus Amazon.

Adagio teas is one of the most popular tea destinations on the web. I expect them to continue to be a serious player in the online tea space for the foreseeable future.
