About Mark Otero

CafeCram_Golden_Gate.jpgI recently moved back to Sacramento; prior to moving, I lived in Oakland’s Piedmont area (which neighbors San Francisco and Berkeley) in California. I’ve spent most of my life in South Korea and California, and cafés are a second home to me: they are a place to meet; study; ponder; grab a cup of something wonderful. I love cafes so much that our current office sits above my yogurt cafe (mochii) in midtown Sacramento.

CafeCram_UC-Davis.jpg I received my MBA with a marketing concentration from UC Davis in 2007 and I have an undergraduate degree in computer science (with honors), from California State University of Sacramento (CSUS). I was enrolled in the computer science graduate program in 2002 but, after one year I decided to pursue business at UC Davis instead.

To round out my business and science background I decided to pursue the study of tea. In 2006, I became tea certified through the Specialty Tea Institute in Manhattan, New York. I love caffeinated products, especially green tea.

I am absolutely fanatical about the application of marketing and branding on products and services, and addicted to all things Web related.

This blog is my daily journal and is a place for me to chronicle my experience in a start-up venture and to reflect.
