Barista Cafe in Mumba India
I’m sitting at Barista cafe in Mumbai near Juhu beach drinking a nice, cold iced-latte. Barista is one of India’s leading cafes and it’s where the upper middle class and wealthy go to enjoy a nice cuppa wonderful while simultaneously waxing poetic on Bollywood, politics, or cricket. The music in the background has a nice rhythmic beat like the beats from Enigma or Buddha Bar and the air - of course - is filled with the smell of espresso beans.

I’m in heaven, for the moment - until I step outside again. It’s exceptionally hot and humid out there so this cafe is a safe haven for me to chill out and enjoy the local flavor while I nurse my ice-cold drink.
Drinks, by the way, are about $0.75 to $1.5 USD - not far off from the prices in the U.S. I tried the chicken, curry pita but it had a rather soggy, slightly spicy, taste to it. It wasn’t very good. The magazine “Rebel” is quite a fun read. It’s like People magazine for teens.
